We’ll start off at the Areni Wine Factory, located about 1.15-1.25 hours from Yerevan. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to sample some of the finest local wines, including the indigenous Areni grape variety. But that’s not all — you’ll also get to taste some fruity wines and brandies that are sure to delight your taste buds. As you sip on your drink, take in the beautiful scenery of the Armenian countryside.
From there, we’ll head to the awe-inspiring Noravank Monastery, which is just a short 15-20 minute drive away. Nestled in a canyon surrounded by red cliffs, this stunning 13th-century complex is one of the most iconic landmarks in Armenia. As you explore the monastery, you’ll be struck by the intricate carvings and vibrant frescoes that adorn the walls. And if you’re lucky, you might even spot some Bezoar goats wandering through the surrounding hills.
Next, it’s on to the Wings of Tatev, the longest reversible aerial tramway in the world. As you soar above the Vorotan Gorge, you’ll be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the stunning Armenian landscape. The cable car ride is almost 6km long and reaches heights of up to 320 m, making for an unforgettable experience.
Last but not least, we’ll arrive at the mysterious and majestic Tatev Monastery, which is perched atop a mountain overlooking the Vorotan Gorge. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the most significant cultural and religious landmarks in Armenia. As you explore the complex, you’ll marvel at the intricate stonework, towering pillars, and stunning views that surround you.
