30 min Seven Wounds Church

The Seven Wounds Church, also known as the Cathedral of the Holy Mother of God, is a historic 19th-century Armenian church located in Gyumri, Armenia. Built between 1873 and 1884, it is famous for housing five altars, allowing Armenian Apostolic, Catholic, Orthodox, and Assyrian Christians to worship under one roof.

The church is named after a revered icon of the Virgin Mary known as the Seven Wounds, believed to have protected the region from drought. Despite Soviet rule and damage from the 1988 earthquake, the church remained active and has since been fully restored. Today, it stands as a powerful symbol of faith, unity, and resilience.

30 min All Saviors Church

All Saviors Church (Holy Saviour’s Church) is a 19th-century Armenian Apostolic church located in Gyumri. Built between 1858 and 1872, it was inspired by the Cathedral of Ani and features striking black and orange tufa stone. Heavily damaged in the 1988 earthquake, the church was fully restored and reconsecrated in 2024. Today, it stands as a symbol of faith and resilience, and is one of Gyumri’s most iconic landmarks.
