Tour Plan

30 min/1 hour Lake Sevan

The tour begins at the breathtaking Lake Sevan, one of the largest high-altitude freshwater lakes in the world, located about 1,900 meters above sea level. Lake Sevan, located about 1.5 to 2 hours' drive from Yerevan, offers plenty of activities for a 2-3 hour visit.

Often called the "Emerald of Armenia", its deep blue waters stretch endlessly toward the horizon, surrounded by rolling hills and mountain ranges.

1 hour Sevanavank Monastery

Rising above the lake on a rocky peninsula is the historic Sevanavank Monastery, founded in the 9th century by the order of king Ashot Bagratuni's daughter – princess Mariam. The monastery consists of two compact yet striking churches—Surp Arakelots (Holy Apostles) and Surp Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God)—constructed from dark volcanic stone.

A short climb to the top offers sweeping views of the vast lake, the surrounding Geghama mountains, and the gentle movements of fishing boats on the water. The fresh highland air and the peaceful setting make this an ideal place to begin our journey—where natural beauty meets human history, both sacred and engineered.
